Schedule: Monday - Friday 9a-5p
Salary: $95,000 - 110,000 (Based on experience)

Position Summary
The Assistant Controller plays a key leadership role within the Fiscal Department, overseeing Accounts Payable, Staff Accountants, and Purchasing functions. This position ensures accuracy of financial reporting, compliance with regulatory requirements, and efficiency of day-to-day operations. The Assistant Controller serves as a leader and mentor, advancing a culture of accountability, teamwork, and continuous improvement.
Key Responsibilities
- Supervise Accounts Payable, Purchasing, and Staff Accountants.
- Assist with monthly close process and preparation of financial statements.
- Ensure compliance with GAAP, nonprofit regulations, and funding requirements.
- Support annual audit, tax filings, and grant reporting.
- Assist in budget development, monitoring, and variance analysis.
- Maintain and strengthen internal controls.
- Lead process improvements in accounting, purchasing, and financial systems.
- Provide leadership, training, and development to accounting staff.
- Other duties as assigned by the Controller or Chief Financial Officer.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field required; MBA/MSA preferred.
- Minimum 5+ years of progressive accounting experience, including 2+ years of supervisory experience.
- Nonprofit or healthcare finance experience strongly preferred.
- Strong knowledge of GAAP, nonprofit accounting, and compliance.
- Demonstrated leadership and mentoring ability.
- Proficiency in ERP/accounting systems and Excel.
- Excellent analytical, communication, and problem-solving skills.
